June 16, 2021: Public tours of the Capitol have resumed!

The beautiful Colorado State Capitol building is the nation’s only capitol building with a LEED® Gold certification. Read more about the certification.

Many organizations contribute to the ongoing work of the state capitol building’s upkeep. Partner organizations include the Colorado General Assembly, the Governor's Office, the Lieutenant Governor's Office, the Department of Personnel & Administration (including Colorado State Archives, the State Architect's Office and the Division of Central Services), History Colorado and several private partners.

The Capitol will be open for self-guided tours only Monday, September 27 through Friday, October 1.   Mr. Brown's Attic Museum and the dome observation area will be closed during this time.   The Capitol will be closed Monday, October 4.  Tours will resume on Tuesday, October 5.

DENVER - Jun. 30, 2021 - THE NORTH ENTRANCE IS CURRENTLY CLOSED.  TO ENTER THE CAPITOL, USE THE SOUTH ENTRANCE, UNDER THE STAIRS, AT 14th AVENUE AND SHERMAN STREET. Note that the dome observation area will be closed for repairs mid to late July (date subject to change).
