Many organizations contribute to the ongoing work of the state capitol building’s upkeep. Partner organizations include the Colorado General Assembly, the Governor's Office, the Lieutenant Governor's Office, the Department of Personnel & Administration (including Colorado State Archives, the State Architect's Office and the Division of Central Services), History Colorado and several private partners.

The Capitol is open Monday-Friday, 7:30-5:00. Free guided tours are available Monday-Friday at 10:00 a.m., 11:00 a.m., 1:00 p.m., and 2:00 p.m. Capitol tours are limited to 20 people on a first come, first served basis.  All tours begin at the Visitor Information Desk, north side, first floor. 
December 16, 2021
The Capitol building will be closed on Friday, December 24 in observation of Christmas and on Friday, December 31 in observation of New Year's Day. On Monday, January 3, the Capitol will be open for only self-guided tours, however Mr. Brown's Attic museum and the dome observation deck will be closed.
September 15, 2021
The Capitol will be open for self-guided tours only Monday, September 27 through Friday, October 1.   Mr. Brown's Attic Museum and the dome observation area will be closed during this time.   The Capitol will be closed Monday, October 4.  Tours will resume on Tuesday, October 5.
