Many organizations contribute to the ongoing work of the state capitol building’s upkeep. Partner organizations include the Colorado General Assembly, the Governor's Office, the Lieutenant Governor's Office, the Department of Personnel & Administration (including Colorado State Archives, the State Architect's Office and the Division of Central Services), History Colorado and several private partners.

The Capitol is open Monday-Friday, 7:30am to 5:00pm. All tours are free. The dome is accessible by stairs only.
Capitol tours are limited to 30 people on a first come, first served basis.

Please be advised that the Colorado State Capitol field trip program is fully booked for the remainder of the 23/24 school year. You are able to book field trips up to one year in advance and doing so is strongly recommended. Self guided field trips are allowed, but will not include a trip to the Dome Observation area. The Capitol is closed on some holidays and may be closed due to adverse weather and other events.
